We evaluated the Pollak program’s 10 year pilot to understand its impact, strengths and weaknesses, and opportunities to improve. We also developed a concise pitch to reach new funders and supporters, explaining what interest-free loans are, how they fill the gaps in funding for low income students who want to attend college, and why the Jewish community wants to support students of other faiths and cultures. We also clearly articulated their unique model: no interest loans, mentoring on budgeting and the financing of college, and partnerships with college success nonprofits who refer students to them for loans and coach them to increase their chances of graduating.
