We created and led an international volunteer team with a broad set of skills to help the Afghans evacuate to Pakistan, apply to refugee programs, receive safe housing, food, and medical care until their applications were approved, and navigate new lives far from home. To do this work, we have partnered with Rainbow World Fund in San Francisco, the German LGBTQ advocacy group, LSVD+, and Canada’s Rainbow Railroad. We also raised $5 million to fund this humanitarian effort, the largest evacuation of LGBTQ people and their families in history.
